String art wedding gift

Project seems pretty straight forward but I still struggle with it.

Key to success:
– nails need to be long enough to hold onto while hammering down. “duh” I used 1″ nails with gauge 18

– base needs to be hard so that the nails will not wobble. After many trials foam board is not good enough with pins. Go for plywood or nicer wood

– wood needs to be at least 1/2 inch thick to hold the nails otherwise the nails will be wobbly

– last but not least, project image on computer to visualize effect. I’ve used tissue paper ($1 per pack of 10, ~a3 size) to trace off of the computer screen
